The “Festival of Nations” opens with the exceptional cellist Sol Gabetta. The vbw Festival Orchestra will perform with the current OPUS KLASSIK award winner and internationally acclaimed pianist Igor Levit. With Japanese pianist Mao Fujita, the “Festival of Nations” showcases the young global elite. We are particularly looking forward to Julia Fischer, who will perform Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons.” The “Festival of Nations” celebrates the 270th birthday of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with Rudolf Buchbinder. In a special concert, violin virtuoso Nigel Kennedy & The Kennedy Bach Ensemble will perform BACH with great expressiveness and innovation. The festival concludes with Mozart once again taking center stage, as star tenor Rolando Villazón celebrates this great composer with a “birthday concert.”
